NYC & Elsewhere - what went wrong

We've been leaf peeping for a couple of days and yesterday arvo went to Woodstock, 50 years too late.  Presently at JFK waiting for QF12 to come home.

Had a great time in NYC.  Saw the Blue Man Group, went to the Met, had a helicopter ride, did amateur night at the Apollo, walked the Williamsburgh bridge to Brooklyn and saw the 911 memorial plus the World Tower, etc.

The dining front was typically NYC fabulous, although Pastrami Queen was closed (bugger, bugger, bugger).  There were several highlights including Eataly,  chelsea markets, Forager and Balthazar.  And to top that off we went to Atera for Suellen's significant birthday.  Well what can I say.  Definitely top five all time and probably top two.  Only edged in a photo finish by Rubichon in Paris.  Really a stunning experience in every respect with 19 courses and including music from a certain age (ACDC, Men at Work, etc).

Learnings and what went wrong:
First hotel - didn't initially give us the room Brenda wanted
Brenda's bag was stolen
Had to visit two Santiago Police stations to file a report
Flights were typically late
Forgot to leave space in my luggage for couple of guinea pigs
We couldn't get cash in Havana
Cards were stopped when they shouldn't have been
Hurricane Matthew
American Airlines could only suggest toll free numbers that don't work from Cuba
Contacting American companies from Cuba is almost impossible
Extra night in Havana
Flight appeared to be cancelled in Cancun even though we had already completed checkin and  immigration
The Standard Highline - hotel service was really poor
Didn't get the room upgrade that was part of our package (STA of course)
Still waiting for hotel refund on room and expense hold on our card
Pastrami Queen was closed
Rent a car was not what we ordered in Poughkeepsie
Rental car toll device didn't work
Arrived at Air B&B place to find someone was already in our apartment
Every time we tried to park we found we were in disabled only
Haven't been seated together for LA to Sydney

Some photos below - view from our NYC hotel room, Brenda was driving, Williamsburg bridge and Brooklyn, NYC sunrise, Hudson River sunsets and leaf peeping, Halloween is coming and Poughkeepsie night spots.
