Namibia Edition 2 - Sept 2018

We’ve been through and got lost in the great Etosha national park and saw many animals including a zebra crossing, actually several of them crossing several times.  Apparently we haven't seen a Meercat yet, they were desert squirrels and banded mongooses.

Further learnings:
* There is one road sign that we think is the equivalent of a wild card.  It depicts an "!" only.  Maybe it means "surprise" or "lookout" or "something" ahead.  We've decided we can make it up as we go along
* We've discovered E and F roads - erratic and frantic
* Government park officials have four modes, aloof, unhelpful, surly, hostile and happy to see you gone, applied in that order
* Pepper sauce goes with everything and every meal
* Apparently it's best when waved down by a local with an M16 not to run over his toes
* There are 100kph school zones on the main highways
* I know many of you will be astonished we had several issues with the gps and ironically it saved us from being completely lost once
* On another occasion we were lost on back roads in Etosha because of the gps (see above re M16)
* Brenda is working her way through the native sources or protein.  Don't worry there are massive herds of them
* We've seen the secretary bird in action, which must have been the genesis for both the drinking bird toy and the maddison (yes the dance)
* The power adapters we bought for Namibia will be really useful in India
* The power adapters we bought for South Africa have taken up permanent residence in Namibia
* The male warthog was the inspiration for the mullet, although many would question the use of inspiration and mullet in one sentence
* Drongos are ubiquitous in Namibia

nb I use the term road with poetic licence
